Each August, one week before students return to campus for the fall semester, Alvernia President, Dr. Thomas F. Flynn, gives an annual "State of the University" address to faculty and staff. It is a time to recognize achievements, discuss plans and projects as well as hurdles yet to come. He reminds community members of the university's values and mission — recognizing opportunities to bring both into curriculum and activities for students and community members alike.
