Event Management Assistant

The Event Management Assistant works with the EM staff by assisting others as they plan and schedule activities, events and meetings.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with Event approval process and verification of facility set up
  • Providing support for maintenance of the University Calendar
  • Collaborating with campus personnel to troubleshoot event needs, welcome and offer direction to guests
  • Developing and maintaining event files
  • Periodically, at least twice per week, monitoring general bulletin boards
    • Straighten existing posted items
    • Post new flyers
    • Remove items that have expired
  • Maintaining room usage statistics
  • Performing general office duties such as copying, filing, greeting visitors and taking messages
  • Other duties as assigned

Job qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a detail-oriented professional environment
  • Ability to handle multiple/overlapping projects, meet deadlines and work flexible hours
  • Self-direction, organizational, time management, oral/written communication and customer service skills a must
  • Team player who is willing to collaborate with both internal and external personnel to ensure a successful event
  • Proficient in word, excel, etc. Eager to learn scheduling software
