Alvernia partners with Highlands at Wyomissing

Through a new partnership, residents of The Highlands at Wyomissing are now able to attend all Seniors College classes at Alvernia University. Additional classes will also be offered onsite at the Highlands.

The Highlands at Wyomissing is a nonprofit retirement community that works to enrich the lives of senior adults through high-quality, continuous care.
Like Alvernia's Seniors College, the Highlands encourages lifelong learning for senior adults. The new partnership, announced this week at the Highlands, will enhance educational offerings for senior residents.

“Learning is a continuous process and we believe this partnership will enhance intellectual stimulation and keep residents engaged in lifelong learning, personal fulfillment and enjoyment through participation in a variety of courses, programs and activities.” said Kevin DeAcosta, president and CEO of the Highlands.

The Alvernia Seniors College offers academic courses, speakers and clubs for senior citizens (age 55 and over). Fall 2014 topics include "Civil War Heroes and their Unforgettable Pennsylvania Connections" and "Around the World in 80 Centuries: a Grand Tour of Human History."
