Alvernia Ph.D. students Patricia Brenner, Tracey Brown and Brian Petersen earned first place at the International Leadership Association’s Student Case Competition (Graduate Division). The competition was held at the 17th Annual Global Leadership Conference in Barcelona, Spain — October 2015.

This year's competition topic titled “Votes, Bribes and Videotape” explored recent corruption scandals in the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).

Teams progressed through three rigorous rounds of competition that included a written brief, a poster showcase, a professional presentation and oral defense of their recommendations.

Competitiors were judged on their ability to demonstrate a solid grasp of the issues inherent in the case, while exhibiting an advanced understanding of leadership theory and practice and providing a realistic and ethical mechanism for organizational change.

The Alvernia team won $1,000 and memberships to the International Leadership Association.
