New MBA program targets healthcare professionals

Alvernia University has added a new Master’s In Business Administration (MBA) degree to its curriculum, designed to meet the evolving demands of healthcare professionals.

The university’s Executive Healthcare MBA program will provide physicians, practitioners and professionals within the field of healthcare with important tools to address management, analytics, finance, risk management, leadership and business strategy. Fall 2017 cohorts begin classes August 28.

A long-time accredited leader in business education, Alvernia also offers on-campus and online MBA programs. Its evening and online MBA programs can be completed in as little as one year, and its many different undergraduate business majors include accounting, finance, marketing and healthcare administration.

Unique to Alvernia’s Executive Healthcare MBA program are courses in healthcare informatics, strategic management of healthcare systems and legal aspects of medical environments.

“The program has really been built with working healthcare professionals in mind,” said Sam Bradley, chair of Alvernia’s Business Department. “It culminates with a capstone project that synthesizes all of the skills and knowledge acquired throughout the program, and putting it into practice.”
