What can I do with a major in Social Work?
The social work major focuses on the study of individual behavior within society. This major combines the study of human behavior with skills necessary to effectively work with individuals, families and groups within organizations, communities and larger society. Generalist social work practice is a holistic approach that draws on knowledge, values and skills to engage in a planned change process. It incorporates assessing clients' needs, establishing goals and objectives, and implementation and evaluation of the planned change process. Issues of gender, ethnicity, culture and at-risk populations are at the core of social work study.Strategies
