How do I sign up for housing?
You will need to complete a housing application on our Alvernia Residential Communities (ARC) portal, pay a housing deposit, and register for 12 or more credits.
How do I select a roommate?
The Housing Application allows you to select a roommate. Every effort will be made to match roommates if both complete and return their application and if both make their housing deposits by the indicated deadline.
All other roommates will be selected by matching the responses given on the Housing Application.
When will I find out who my roommate(s) will be and where I will be living?
You will receive your housing assignment in mid-July. Your assignment will include your room number, telephone number and mailbox number. You will also receive your roommate(s) name, phone number and address.
What if I don't get along with my roommate?
The Office of Residence Life hopes that all roommate matches will be lasting ones. However, roommate change requests will be considered only after the first two weeks of classes have been completed.
What is the phone service like?
Each residence hall room is equipped with a telephone jack. You (or your roommate) will need to provide a touch-tone phone. Each student will be given a personalized confidential access code for long distance calling. Voice mail service is also provided as an alternative to an answering machine.
May I have a pet?
Due to health and safety standards, fish are the only pets allowed in the residence halls. Other pets are not permitted at any time.
What do I need to hook up my computer?
The college maintains a technology network available to all students. The Information Services department recommends using a computer with a Pentium processor or its equivalent (minimum) with a 10/100 Ethernet card. You can request assistance from the Alvernia College Information Services department.
How can I get involved?
There are many programs/activities offered by the Residence Life Office which you may participate in and perhaps even help plan and coordinate.

To receive all mail (including cards, packages, bills, and magazines) please use the following format:

What if I want to move off-campus mid-year or during a semester?
All resident students sign a one year housing contract. Any student wishing to be released from the housing contract must submit a Release from Housing Contract form to the Office of Residence Life. Students will be notified of the decision by the Dean of Students. Any student who moves out of the residence halls without receiving proper authorization will be responsible for all housing and board fees for the duration of the housing contract.
