Active Minds is the leading nonprofit organization that empowers students to speak openly about mental health to educate others and encourage help-seeking. We are changing the culture on campuses and in the community by providing information, leadership opportunities, and advocacy training to the next generation.

Allied is an alliance between the LGBTQIA+ community and straight people to create a culture accepting of everyone.
 

The Alvernia Dance Company provides an opportunity for students who love dance to pursue their interest in an accepting, flexible and positive environment. Our organization is open to dancers of all levels of capability in all styles of dance. Our performances have ranged from solely dance to performing with the theatre, chorus and/or orchestra. While performing is completely optional and up to the dancer's comfort level, we are open to, and encourage, dancers to work on their own dance pieces including solos, duos, and group pieces. Our advisor Jessica Warchal King and president Sara Baker are always more than happy to work with dancers to fulfill their dance dreams.

The purpose of Alvernia DiscipleMakers is to provide a safe environment where faith in God can be found and fostered to transform lives. As a group of students we want to dig into God's word together through weekly Bible studies and fellowship. We focus on one book of the Bible a semester. Our desire is to learn how to read and study the Bible, so that on our own time we have the resources and ability to read it daily, be able to apply it to our lives, and then go share with others.

The Alvernian is Alvernia University's monthly college newspaper. We cover news of interest to the campus community, as well as the greater Reading area.

The purpose of the Alvernia Student Nurses Association (ASNA) is to aid in the development of the nursing students’ integrity through their professional role and responsibility for the holistic care of all people, enhance their academic and professional growth in nursing education, promote a greater understanding of the nursing profession throughout the university and the community and develop nursing leadership skills. ASNA fulfills this purpose by connecting undergraduate nursing students with state and national-level student nursing conventions, nursing-related community service opportunities and monthly meetings with all levels of the nursing program.

Alvernia University Fishing Club is where anglers, novice and experienced, can fish, learn new fishing tactics and make new friends. We have a boat.

If you are ready to build your future to reach your goals AMA is the club for you. The American Marketing Association is one of the largest marketing associations in the world, with over 30,000 members who work, teach and study in the field. By becoming a member, you gain access to a vast body of marketing knowledge, high-quality training programs, the latest tools and tactics, exposure to leading-edge thinking, and opportunities to interact with marketing peers around the world. There is a fee of $29.

ATSA is an organization that lets Alvernia students work on different skills, connect with other athletic training students, and provide opportunities to network with professionals by sending members to different conferences, symposiums and meetings.
 

Our mission is to educate our Alvernia community on what it’s like to be Black in America. We are here to create a safe space for all groups of people on campus.

Campus Activities Board provides a variety of free events for Alvernia students to attend both on and off campus. Entertainment that we plan includes comedians, musicians, movie trips, magicians, hypnotists and novelties. We encourage any interested student to attend a meeting and be a part of creating our events.

Circle K International is a service organization formed to help the community through various service projects. If you were a former Key Club member in high school you will want to join this club. Our club's goal is to encourage leadership through serving others. It is part of an umbrella of organizations led by Kiwanis International.

The Coalition of Occupational Therapy Advocates for Diversity is designed to support occupational therapy students to work together to promote diversity, equity and inclusion within occupational therapy education programs and in the profession. The chapter’s aim is to create opportunities and resources that foster open conversation and increased awareness of different lived experiences to increase cultural humility.

The Criminal Justice Association of Alvernia University is made up of criminal justice majors, forensic science majors and other students interested in the criminal justice field. The club focuses on all aspects of the criminal justice system, including law enforcement, probation and parole, the court system, corrections, victims and forensic science. In addition to meeting regularly, the club engages in various community activities and service projects, organizes trips, and brings in outside speakers.

Education Association is an organization of members of Alvernia University students that come together to:

• communicate, interact and cooperate with educators and citizen groups for the welfare of young people and the improvement of education.
• provide information and activities enabling students to gain insights into the role of educators and education in society.
• provide students with experiences and information about careers.
• foster personal growth through leadership training and experiences.
   

Friends of Animals Organization is an advocacy organization that is motivated to help animals in our local area. We partner with shelters to volunteer and learn how to be better friends to animals through events, meetings and community service.

The Alvernia University Chapter of FBLA-Collegiate, the institution's general business club, allows members to attend conferences and participate in competitive events that improve their business and professional career. FBLA prepares its members to enter business and business-related fields. Several components of the chapter are essential in establishing the personal success of the membership, including the chapter advisor, the activities of FBLA-Collegiate, and, most importantly, the students.

Hooked on Helping seeks to encourage an appreciation of knitting and crocheting among the Alvernia community, while providing opportunities for community members to learn these skills and to create projects that will be donated to those in need. This also allows for a creative and engaging way to earn community service hours to meet the graduation requirement. There is no requirement to know how to knit or crochet — we can teach you.

Our hope is to create an open community exploring what it means to live a Jesus centered life in the modern day through student fellowship and bible study. We encourage our community growth through various fellowship events as well as service events to help our community. We also offer weekly prayer nights to ask questions, make friendships, and study scripture.

Intramural sports are open to Alvernia students and faculty. We hold recreational sports leagues for the Alvernia community to participate in.

Lambda Sigma Society is a national honor society for sophomore students in any major dedicated to the purpose of fostering leadership, scholarship, fellowship, and the spirit of service among college students. Only those first year students who have placed in at least the top 35 percent of the class academically and who have shown evidence of leadership during their first year are selected to participate.

Bringing a serving spirit to Alvernia, the Mission Club participates in various service opportunities throughout the community.

The Multicultural Club serves as a network and supportive community for multiracial and multiethnic students and all who are interested in learning about other cultures. We will promote positive cross-cultural engagement by hosting events on campus and volunteering in the community. We are committed to continuing the struggle for equality for all people, regardless of culture. We feel it is our duty as members of this club to ensure that education and exploration promote inclusion on all our campuses.

The Outdoor Adventure Klub (OAK) provides opportunities for leadership and team-building skills through participation in outdoor adventures. Our goal is to welcome students with the same common interest and build relationships revolving around the outdoors. OAK runs outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, snowboarding, white-water rafting, kayaking and much more. We also plan service events such as volunteering at Bog Turtle Creek Farm, Schuylkill River Trail Cleanup and more.

The purpose of Phi Alpha is to provide a closer bond among students of social work and promote humanitarian goals and ideals. Phi Alpha fosters high standards of education for social workers and invites into membership those who have attained excellence in scholarship and achievement in social work.

The Philosophy Club offers a place for philosophical thinkers to engage in in depth conversations involving current events, ethical issues, on-campus topics, and so much more. The Philosophy Club is open to all who are willing to share their ideas and listen to those of others.

PTE is a specialized honors society for occupational therapy students and alumni. The mission of Pi Theta Epsilon is to support the practice of occupational sciences and the practice of authentic occupational therapy by promoting research, leadership and scholarly activities by its members. In this way, the organization serves not only the profession, but helps to ensure quality healthcare services for the general public.

Come together to discuss topics that interest you the most, and how you can become the change. We go on trips to historical sites and landmarks, and we have a competitive Mock Trial team that competes against other universities and colleges. All are welcome despite any political beliefs. We provide a peaceful environment to coexist with one another. Don't be afraid or set back by the name or any stereotypes you might have conjured up, and come take a seat at the table! We also have a new Regional, completive Mock Trial team! All are welcome to be a part of this new force.

The Pre-Health Professions Club which includes, but is not limited to, Pre-Medical, Pre-Dental, Physician Assisting, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, nursing, and Pre-Veterianiary provides a setting in which students who are working toward future careers in the health professions can share information, network, learn more about the health professions in general, and have fun while developing friendships with students who share some of their interests. Members of this organization are composed of students pursuing study in several areas of science and related health fields.

Psi Chi is an international honor society whose purpose shall be to encourage, stimulate, and maintain excellence in scholarship of the individual members in all fields, particularly in psychology, and to advance the science of psychology.

The Alvernia Psychology Club is open to students of all majors who have an interest in Psychology. The club aims to help students gain insight into current topics in psychology. The club promotes leadership and build strong bonds with the community through service opportunities, information sessions, and other exciting events. Past club activities included creating Rorschach inkblots, attending the Eastern Psychological Association (EPA), graduate and alumni psychology panels, and many more.

Residence Hall Association's goals are to advocate for all the students living in university housing to have the best residential experience possible and to help build a stronger residential community on campus through programming.

Risk Management Association is an academic organization designed to improve student learning and understanding of the banking and finance world. It is open to all students and provides helpful information on internships, course packs and scholarships.

The Saudi Student Club is a multicultural student organization attends for serving Saudis students at Alvernia University and in the Reading area by providing support and help for education, living, and incorporation with the US culture. Our vision is to represent our culture in the best way to Alvernia and the USA. We are looking to introduce our history, beliefs, culture, and religion to different cultures through events, social relationships, and education.

Science Association acquaints students with the fun, service and professionalism the world of science has to offer. We want to inspire the minds of our members and of the community through social events, community service and involvement with our peers and Alvernia College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics staff members.

The Social Work Association, built upon the 6 Core Values of Social Work, including Service, Social Justice, Integrity, the Importance of Human Relationships, Dignity and Worth of the Individual, and Competence, brings students together through service, fundraising, and donation drives. Members connect with a variety of organizations and agencies in the community, as well as with Social Work students from other universities and colleges near and far. This association also branches to out to related human services such as occupational therapy, physical therapy, nursing, healthcare science, and education.

The Society for Human Resource Management acquaints students seeking careers in management, human resource management or labor relations with current issues and trends in these fields. Our Superior Merit-winning student chapter is recognized locally by the Berks County SHRM Chapter. Sponsorship affords our students networking opportunities with professional chapter members during monthly meetings. The professional chapter also helps to sponsor events such as our on-campus job fair. Student members have been participants in various community events such as Toys for Tots, Road Run, MADD fundraisers and the chapter's annual Animals Need Food, Too campaign.

We are an organization that brings the best out of people. We want to have a fun club with fun and competitive events, and we bring in guest speakers to share their experiences with you.

The Student Athlete Advisory Committee allows student-athletes representatives from each of our 24 varsity sports to have a voice in the NCAA at the campus, conference, and national level. This committee is made up of student-athletes who work together to provide insight on the student-athlete experience and offer input on the rules and regulations that affect them.

Student Government Association acts as a liaison between the administration and the student body of Alvernia. Members of the executive board and senate are elected through a campus-wide election. Members of the council of presidents are the presidents of all active Registered Student Organizations (RSO).

SOTA is an occupational therapy club that explores all areas of the OT profession while also creating a great network within Alvernia and the local community. We have frequent meetings and events that are stress-free and enjoyable, while also educating our members on different aspects of occupational therapy. Our members consist of all class levels and even graduate students, so students are able to build connections and ask questions to other students. Some examples of what we do at meetings are guest speakers, interactive games and crafts, movie nights, field trips, and yoga. We are active in the local community by volunteering with many local organizations and holding many donation drives. Our goals are to create a strong community of students at Alvernia who work closely with faculty, other students, and the local community; to hold events that reflect the interests of its members; and to advocate for the occupational therapy profession.

Alvernia's Theatre Club is a small, yet tight-knit group of Alvernia students, staff and local community members that bond over a shared love of all things theater. If you don't want to participate in our one main stage production per semester, you can still get involved with other smaller performances, including student-directed one-act plays, cabarets, theater-affiliated events and much more.

The purpose of the Wolfpack Media Club is to create opportunities for students to experience the world of communications as it relates to career goals through events, informational sessions, and further activities. Any currently enrolled Alvernia University undergraduate student can join the Wolfpack Media Club. This organization is affiliated with the National Communication Association.

Zephyrus is a collection of original creative works from submissions received from students across campus. Named for the god of the west wind who brings soft rains and spring renewal, the journal is an outlet for creativity that recognizes our students not only for what they know, but for how they feel and what they wonder about.
