Alvernia On-site Visit



Alvernia University has joined Montgomery County Community College’s (MCCC) University Center to offer nursing and healthcare science degree programs. Alvernia will offer the RN to BSN completion program, Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Science and the Master of Science in Nursing programs at MCCC’s University Center in Pottstown. In addition, graduates and employees of MCCC who enroll in the Alvernia courses at the University Center will receive a 20% tuition scholarship.

  • History: Established as a private four-year liberal arts college in 1958, Alvernia celebrated its 50th year by being awarded university status in 2008.

  • Enrollment: 3,000 students attend Alvernia including 1,500 traditional undergraduates, 600 continuing education students, and 780 graduate students. Over 77% of first-year students live on campus.
